New Years 2011, second in Ningbo

We celebrated our second New Years eve in Ningbo with one of the best things of all, the day off!

The day was spent with co-workers with a monetary gift from our owners to celebrate the western holiday. It is still bizarre to wish everyone you see Happy New Year and they say either, “oh, your new year,” or “the new year hasn’t arrived yet.” Of course they are referring to Chinese New Year that will be on Jan 23rd this year.
We will be traveling up north around Beijing area for our upcoming 9 day new year vacation!

After an afternoon of pool and charades playing, we got to feast on Mexican, oh yeah, chicken enchiladas in China are pretty good!

Then it was onto The Office Bar for the traditional new years festivities!
Tracey and Steff along for the fun!

Cheers!

After we rang in the new year, it was time to set off wish lanterns.
Paper lanterns you can write your message on for the new year and send it on it’s way.
Buy, unwrap, lite the burner and wait for it to take flight!
