Our Taipei neighborhood and home!

After our apartment searching and headaches, we decided on the place we saw Friday night right in the middle of the Eastern side of Zhongshan & Shuanglian MRT stops. The neighborhood is very diverse and has everything we need!

The last photo above is from tree line Zhongshan Road looking down our street, we are half way down the block on the right.

Here is our area in all directions:
South – park and bus stops
West – tree-lined Zhongshan Road, high end boutiques and hotels and MRT
North – outdoor market, small Tokyo (Japanese tourism and brothels)
East – grocery store, cinema

So, now that you have an idea for our neighborhood; here’s our place! It’s slightly more square footage than we had in Ningbo, still small, it’s the perfect size for us. From the front door:

It came furnished, including these overstuffed funky chairs:

Can you see the Giants emblem scarf hanging on the TV?
Off the living room is our spacious bathroom:

The only furniture needed is a small dining table to go here:

Then the good size kitchen (huge for downtown Taipei):

Head into the bedroom and the first thing you see is my makeup/desk, big mirror, oh yeah:

Decent size bed, but look at all that storage!
Walking outside to our balcony/laundry room…yes it’s caged…but makes a lot of room for flowers and herbs! We look Southeast towards our nearby park and in the distance can make out the Taipei 101.

Our first late night snack, compliments of 7 Eleven (yes, they are everywhere and open 24/7), hot dog, chips and beer. A comfortable sleep is thanks to IKEA. Everything is so convenient here!!

Our first cooked meal at home was a success thanks to Carrefour (French department/grocery store). J always makes the best!

We are surrounded by great food, including European inspired places to enjoy a meal!
Breakfast at this little cafe of two breakfast sandwiches and wonderful coffee as a set meal cost a whopping US$3.40, and such a cute place too!!

The other late morning, we were wandering our neighborhood looking for brunch when we saw a cafe next to a small restaurant open to the street with outdoor seating, the best! Two fabulous lattes and Italian-Asian fusion dishes later we were satisfied. Oh yeah, comfort food!
