Taipei Shopping under the 101

Taipei is an awesome place for shopping. There are a wide array of options from street vendors to high end luxury shopping malls. They are conveniently linked with the subway lines and offer one-stop shopping entertainment at each location. There are food courts with Coldstone, Starbucks, fresh sushi, and multiple noodle options. We just finished visiting The City Super and Fresh Market in the bottom of each Sogo shopping mall at Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT. You can find everything here!

The other day, we ventured to the tallest building in town, the Taipei 101.

The architecture and open air feel of the Taipei 101 mall is inspiring.

On the 5th floor of this extravagant mall, you will find a superbly excellent bookstore with loads of English texts, oh yeah! Check it out: Page One

Travel down to the food court floor to find a great selection of imported goods at Jason’s (it’s slightly more expensive than City Super, which as the best offerings we’ve found!) Check out all these goodies!

If you find yourself in Taipei for an extended visit or you are moving here, you’ll be happily surprised at all the goodies you are able to find!

In the Taipei 101 shopping area, there is also the famous Din Tai Fung restaurant. It’s famed for receiving a Michelin star, though I don’t really see what the fuss is all about. I’ve had the scrumptious xiaolongbao dumplings they are known for many a place and I’ve heard they are just as classic as you’ll find from your street vendor. Though the ambiance is worth it here!

Don’t miss the chance for a Taipei 101 photo opp, of course!
