Lantern Festival in Shifen

Every year to mark the end to Chinese New Year, one must send your new year wishes up into the sky with your own lantern. We were lucky to spend the event with David and Delilah. We each painted our own side of the bright big lantern, so inspiring!

Shifen is known as the lantern town along the old mining train rail line. It’s an easy day trip from Taipei via the local train then change to the old Pingxi train line. It’s a cool, old, small train that goes right through the center of the town. Very cool!

We stayed late into the night watching hundreds of lanterns taking off, very inspiring!
